Solium Art Wall

Stock Wall is an art installation designed by the Laboratory for Integrative Design for the reception area of Solium, a Calgary-based financial services company. The work was commissioned by Mckinley Burkart Architecture + Interior Design. Stock Wall builds on our continuing explorations of machinic art, data mapping and pareidolia, and is our first foray into robotic fabrication. The milling and colour coding of the panels was produced using 2 ABB IRB2600 industrial robots. In the design process, our project team developed various proposals for overlaying data and imagery to produce composite images with multiple potential readings. Designed in Collaboration with Jason Johnson with assistance from JP Hammill, Anson Kim, Hayden Patullo and Alex Wilton
